Founder & CEO RRS Education
Shawn is a chiropractor, conference and seminar speaker, knowledge-transfer leader, educator, entrepreneur and medicolegal consultant. He has been in practice since 2004. From 2004 until August 2016 he was Associate Clinic Director at SHAPE Health & Wellness Centre Toronto where he led a multidisciplinary team of health professionals including chiropractors, physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, nutritionists and strength and conditioning specialists. He currently sees only private patients.
As a practicing clinician himself, Shawn ensures that RRS Education (Research Reviews, Seminars & Online Courses) provides practical insight into the rational application of current scientific research to clinical practice. Practitioners are faced with the daunting task of staying abreast of emerging research as the volume of evidence-based information grows. Research Reviews help bridge this gap by providing weekly reviews of current scientific articles to subscribers in 15+ countries!
In 2012 Shawn created RRS Education Seminars offering continuing-education seminars for chiropractors and physiotherapists. Courses are offered at premiere locations with gourmet food and wine experiences for attendees.
Fall of 2013 saw the launch of another new service developed by Dr. Thistle. RRS Education Online Continuing-Education Courses offering affordable and topical credit-hour courses, based on existing reviews in the Reviews database, to be utilized from the comfort of home or office.
Since graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Shawn has remained there as a part-time faculty member, lecturing in the Dept. of Orthopedics. As a lecturer and public speaker, he blends contemporary research with his entrepreneurial business acumen and experience in clinical practice to provide passionate, high-energy presentations on topics relating to Chiropractic and Manual Medicine.
